Today is a better day.
Today I will be clever and I will eat.
So I wont get wibbly or paranoid.
I'm fine when I'm working because my job involves lots of moving arround, takes lots of energy and has tea and biscuits constantly available. But days off I'm hopeless. I sit down and read LJ, (sometimes taking hours) and this is bad enough, but then I decide there is nothing in the house I want to eat so I'll go into town and get something there. By the time I get there I'm already suffering and need something quick, so I eat something sugary which gives me a huge energy spike and I do lots of things and then crash again at really inconvenient times.
I don't mind the physical bits that much. it just tells me how stupid I am being and that I'm letting my machinery down. What I hate is the emotional aspect to it. The paranoia, feeling unable to cope and being inadequate etc etc.
but does this stop me doing it? Not as yet. One day at a time. Today I have eaten two bowls of cereal since I got up at 11. Lunch will be hot and sour soup, when I've made it.

As for what to do on 'off' days - may I be so bold as to suggest a hobby? Something you REALLY want to do. Or a night class, or online class or something? Dunno if you have a regular rota, but doing something you love, even if its exploring the museum and sketching (which I do on occassion, when I'm kidless (and Daveless)) is better than feeling you've got NOTHING to do. I've taken to photography and love going off and walking and exploring and finding good shots.
Oh, and poke people to do stuff more often :) We'll fit around your schedule if you've got one and we don't, really :)

I probably ought to get blood tests done but I hate it when I work myself up to go and then they tell me its nothing. I know its not diabetes becuase I'm not really thirsty or losing lots of weight rapidly with no good reason. but what it is I don't know so I just go with living with it and occaisionally not being sensible.

Mmm, I do that.
Took me til about 1 to get washed and dressed yesterday, and then til kisin was on the way home to clean the bathroom. (He noticed, thank god, or the sponge might have gone up his nose!)
The next step is increasing paranoia and self doubt til you decide you're not actually going to eat because you don't deserve to... Or that might just be me! :) Luckily doesn't happen that often.
Carrying a mars bar works, and making sure there's stuff other than soup in the flat because it's just not filling without stupid amounts of wheat with it, and even if you'e not allegic to wheat too much is a bad thing.
Potato....

I usually do carry something with me, that I don't need often so when I do use it I forget to replenish it. silly me!

You possibly should sometime - I'm on THAT list :), and I know of several others (though, at the same time, I'm actually quite happy in my own skin - I just wish, jsut sometimes, I looked MORE like you :D)

Instant miso is my current favorite for a quick snack when I can't face anything complicated.
Oh and oatcakes have all sorts of good, slow-release carbohydrates in them, are pretty much instant, can have a sweet or savory topping and can be served cold or toasted (and, unlike bread, don't go off in a couple of days).

Oatcakes also sounds like a fine idea. I think keeping snacks like flafjacks and cereal bars around are also good.
Oh oh and what about dried fruit. Dried whole banana are yummy - though that may just be me.

Remember, you are the most important thing, and on that note, I'd better cook tea :-)
